Use of free time and free time activities of secondary school pupils in Chomutov

1 ABSTRACT The bachelor thesis "Leisure time activities and leisure activities of secondary school students in Chomutov" deals with the leisure time of children and youth from the Chomutov region and maps the issue of their leisure activities. The theoretical part deals with the definition of leisure time and its historical concept, various views on leisure time, the functions that this time has and the factors that affect leisure time. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with education in leisure time and its functions, education outside teaching and school leisure facilities, including subjects of leisure activities, which is located in the town of Chomutov. Attention is also focused on the issue of risky behavior that threatens today's youth and whether it is possible to eliminate these phenomena in some way or partially prevent them. The next part of this work also describes social networks that have a significant impact on leisure time. The aim of this work is to find out how high school students in Chomutov use their free time, whether they are satisfied with the content and amount of their free time, how they engage in leisure activities and whether they use some leisure facilities that the city of Chomutov offers. A questionnaire survey was used to achieve this goal.
Educational needs of teachers in leisure education

The theme of the thesis is to identify the educational needs of teachers in leisure education. The theoretical part is focused on the identification and analysis of educational needs. It also focuses on staff training, their competencies and the use of competency approach to their education. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter on after-school education and the teachers' activities. The aim of the research is to identify the educational needs of these teachers and the specification of their competencies. The research section includes a survey carried out by the technique of unstructured written interviews. According to the analysis of the obtained information the competencies of teachers are specified and the competency model is created. The competency model can be used for the selection, evaluation and remuneration and other training of the teachers in after-school education. Identifying educational needs of teachers offers them themes and ideas for their professional training.
Changes in a presentation of a "good" scout

Main theme of the diploma thesis is the children's magazine Junák, which is especially intended for members of the Czech Scout organization Junák. The thesis deals with the main ideas of the Scout Movement and its significance for the society. Further, it describes the history of Czech scouting from the beginning up to now. Subsequent part pays attention to the magazine Junák, its history and importance for the members to the Czech Scout organization. The second practical part is devoted to the research of the changes in a presentation of an ideal scout member in a various time periods based on articles published in the magazine Junák. As a method the quantitative content analysis is used. The survey explores how the characteristics, abilities, values and activities of the "good" scout have changed since the beginning of the 20th century. In addition it tries to find out if the scout was influenced by the contemporary political and social circumstances. The research part consists of eight particular presentations created by eight representative volumes of the magazine Junák. Conclusion is comprised of the summarizing overview based on the previous presentations. It stresses the changes and differences of the attributes of the scouts over almost one hundred years.
The concept of after-school education in socialist Czechoslovakia

This thesis deals with the concept of after-school education in socialist Czechoslovakia. It explains the period expressions such as after-class and after school education and gives an abstract of particular conceptions of after-school education up to the 70's of the 20th century. The main emphasis is laid on the concept of after-school education from the 70's that determined the conditions of futher development of the educational system. The main aim is to establish both the positive and negative sides of the concept of after-school education in socialist Czechoslovakia and refer to the other possibilities of its futher development that had the influence on children's extracurricular activities and ther progress. The particular conceptions of after-school education are compared and the deficiencies of the older concept are mentioned. The main attention is paid to the critical evaluation of the newer concept of after-school education from the 70's., presented mainly by the view of V. Bláha.
Comparison of free-time activities offered by non-governmental non-for-profit organizations in České Budějovice from the viewpoint of support of Roma children integration at basic schools

The thesis deals with comparison of use of free-time activities offered by non-governmental non-for-profit organizations (NNO) in České Budějovice with activities offered by basic schools (ZŠ), as one of possibilities to support integration of Roma children in the educational process. The theoretical part presents the issue of integration in general and also in respect to the target group of Roma people and Roma children attending regular basic schools. The thesis also briefly summarizes the problems of the Roma minority and their impacts on life in the society. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to NNOs in České Budějovice in respect to Roma children and their integration at school and also the content free-time activities organized by those organizations and their impacts on integration of Roma children at basic schools. The practical part of the thesis used a research investigation with qualitative strategy, performed by means semi-structured interviews. The objective of the thesis was to determine the level of utilization of free-time activities offered to the target group of Roma children by NNOs as one of the opportunities to support their integration, while the activities are intermediated not only by the basic schools but also by NNOs that focus on the mentioned target group.
